The Integrated Care Services Division

The Integrated Care Services Division offers a diverse range of programs and services which provide high quality person centred care to patients, clients, residents and consumers throughout Bendigo and the Loddon Mallee Region.  Services are provided in inpatient, outpatient, community and residential care settings including at the Bendigo Hospital site, a number of sites in Bendigo and across the Region and in client’s homes.

Our services include one of largest public community dental services in Victoria, allied health, a comprehensive palliative care service, rehabilitation and geriatric evaluation, residential care, community care packages, carer support services, community nursing, aged care assessment, transition care, residential in reach, hospital admission risk program, post-acute care, diabetes education, aboriginal services, health promotion, diversity and interpreting services, pastoral care and a large team of volunteers.

 

The Allied Health Team

 The Allied Health team at Bendigo Health comprises over 350 staff including Audiology, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Psychology/Neuropsychology, Social Work, Speech Pathology and Allied Health Assistance.  Allied Health clinicians work in a very broad range of roles and are valued in the contribution they make to the multi-disciplinary team.

 

The Position

The Bendigo Health Occupational Therapy Department provides services in acute, sub-acute and community based settings including physical and mental health services.  

This position will provide community based Occupational Therapy services to people and relevant community groups with complex needs and elderly people living at home in the areas serviced by CAHS. The position will provide a senior level of experience and supervision to grade 1 and undergraduate student health professionals.  The position will involve collaboration with key local stakeholders, and may also include provision of contract services.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
01.Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and compliance with the Bendigo Health Allied Health Credentialing and Scope of Practice policy

Essential:
02.An understanding of the role of the Occupational Therapist in a community setting utilising a person-centred approach

Essential:
03.A demonstrated understanding of health and related issues for elderly people, people with disabilities and their carers

Essential:
04.Demonstrated ability to supervise and support grade 1 occupational therapists and undergraduate students

Essential:
05.A demonstrated commitment to working in a multidisciplinary team that includes collaborative partnerships with service providers involved with the care of the client

Essential:
06.A demonstrated ability to be self directed, motivated and to manage time effectively
