Position Summary

Obstetrics & Gynaecology Senior Registrar

Department: Women and Children

Classification: Equivalent to years of experience
Salary: as per award

Hours: 86 per fortnight
Status: One full time Registrar positions 12 months commencing from February 2021

This position is available for an experienced Registrar to work in a large regional obstetrics and gynaecology service, with approximately 1700 births per year. To gain preparation for fellowship of RANZCOG and a specialist O&G career, with opportunities for acute obstetric, clinic participation and operating sessions, some with indirect supervision. And where rostering and hospital commitments permit, acting as a surgical assistant for VMO's operating in private practice.

At Bendigo Health a broad general clinical caseload is available with excellent operating exposure and a range of consultant-led clinics are available, including antenatal, general gynaecology and family planning clinics on a weekly basis.

There is scope within this position to tailor exposure according to the interest of the individual applicant, and aims to provide an exposure to prepare well for post fellowship career.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
01.Medical Degree and current general AHPRA Registration

02.Membership of RANZCOG

03.Current residency or working VISA

04.PGY4 or above at commencement with Registrar level experience within O&G

Essential:
05.Thorough understanding of the relevant legislation pertaining to Medical Officers

Essential:
06.Demonstrated appropriate level experience and skills in the medical assessment and clinical management of patients

Essential:
07.High level interpersonal and communication skills

Essential:
08.Demonstrated commitment to rural practice and rural communities

Essential:
09.Evidence of on-going professional development to continually update personal medical knowledge and skills
