Mental Health team

Bendigo Health Mental Health Services is a complex service that provides psychiatric care and treatment across a large catchment area in Victoria stretching from Swan Hill in the north of the state to Gisborne in the south. Services are provided to a range of clients, including patients, families and carers, General Practitioners and other members of the broader mental health service system. A range of clinical services is provided to patients across all ages through dedicated programs.

Position

Reporting to the Manager, Youth Mental Health Service, you will provide assessment, outreach treatment and continuing care to patients with complex high prevalence mental health disorders, major mental illness or “at risk mental state”, perform clinical case management of clients with complex high prevalence mental health disorders, early onset psychosis and other psychiatric illnesses, and participate in ongoing clinical reviews within a multidisciplinary team. For further information on the role please refer to the position description. The position is based in Echuca.

 

KSC (Key Selection Criteria)

  • Knowledge of the relevant state wide Psychiatric Service frameworks, procedures and guidelines, and a sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 (as amended) and its application to clinical practice.
  • Knowledge of underlying principles, clinical care and best practice models associated with treatment of complex mental health disorders in young people.
  • Proven ability to liaise and consult with relevant family members, as well as a broad range of health professionals, and community agencies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Well-developed skills in therapeutic group work, or willingness to undertake training in this area.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
01.Current registration as a Registered Nurse OR Occupational Therapist with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency). Or tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership wiht the AASW (Australian Association of Social Workers)

Essential:
