The Residential Services Team

Residential Services provides accommodation for 265 older residents of Bendigo and surrounding areas who require low and high level care. Our facilities are spread over multiple campuses.

We achieved perfect scores in the last Aged Care Accreditation round. Our homes accommodate and care for some of the most vulnerable older people in our community. We strive for service excellence through innovation and constantly monitoring our care standards and seeking to do things better.

 

Simpkin House

  • Simpkin House consists of a 10 bed memory support unit and 30 psycho-geriatric beds

The Position

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will:

  • Support both the Director of Nursing and the Deputy Director of Nursing to provide operational, strategic, clinical and professional management to the staff of the service.
  • Provide efficient management, direction and support to the clinical and non-clinical staff in line with Bendigo Health policies and procedures and maintain a standard of excellence in nursing practice that reflects the vision and goals of Bendigo Health
  • Work with the Residential Care Services leadership team and staff to ensure that Simpkin House is compliant with the Aged Care Quality Standards

Selection Criteria
Essential:
01.Sound knowledge and experience of Dementia and Aged Person Mental Health

Essential:
02.Demonstrated high level of clinical knowledge and skills relevant to Residential Aged Care

Essential:
03.High level leadership and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated and proven ability to develop and manage staff in a complex and changing environment

Essential:
04.Strong knowledge of residential funding (ACFI) and proven experience with developing and efficiently managing budgets

Desirable:
05.Extensive knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards and Aged Care legislation

Desirable:
06.High level written, and verbal communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines and provide required information
