Position Summary

Due to retirements and promotion of staff the integrated palliative care Service is looking for a dynamic and motivated division 1 registered nurse within the hospice and evaluation unit team. The service comprises of Hospice and Evaluation Unit, community palliative care service and the Loddon Mallee regional palliative care consultancy service.

The registered nurse provides excellent care, symptom management and education of patients within the hospice and evaluation setting. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will work across the integrated palliative care service.

The organisation services the Loddon Mallee region, which covers about 26 per cent of Victoria and a population around 307,000. We provide health care across the entire lifespan from pre-natal and newborn babies to the aged, their families and carers.

 

The Healthy Communities and Continuing Care Division provide a wide range of services to patients/clients and their families across the Loddon Mallee Region.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
01.Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).

Essential:
02.Demonstrated high level organizational skills and experience collaborating and communicating with individuals, their caregivers and family members and other members of the health care team to promote multidisciplinary care and optimal palliative care outcomes.

Essential:
03.Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently in an environment of change.

Desirable:
04.Post-graduate qualification in palliative care or related field, and/ or willingness to work towards same.

Desirable:
05.knowledge of the national standards with demonstrated achievement in and commitment to continuous quality improvement.
