  • We have an opportunity for a mental health clinician to join our team in the beautiful town of Swan Hill on the banks of the Murray River.

Senior Mental Health Clinician

Classification: Registered Nurse (Grade 4), Social Worker (Grade 3) or Occupational Therapist (Grade 3)

Salary: Dependent upon classification and experience. Relocation and accommodation support will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Hours: Full time (with monthly ADO) or part time can be negotiated.

About the Role

You will:

  • Make a difference to other people’s lives
  • Be part of a friendly and supportive integrated Community Mental Health Team
  • Be provided with direction by the Manager and team Psychiatrist
  • Treat and support patients by providing psychiatric triage, intake, assessment, treatments and short-term interventions
  • Provide psycho-education and support for patients and their families /carer(s).

 

About the Community Mental Health Services

As well as providing a community based adult mental health service in Bendigo, psychiatric services also has community based multidisciplinary teams located in 5 rural areas throughout the region - Castlemaine, Kyneton, Maryborough in the South and Swan Hill and Echuca in the North.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
01.Current registration as a Registered Nurse OR Psychologist OR Occupational Therapist with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency). Or tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership wiht the AASW (Australian Association of Social Workers)

Essential:
02.Post graduate qualifications, or working towards, in mental health and/or related field.

Essential:
03.Extensive experience and expertise in community based psychiatric triage, assessment, support and treatment of people with a mental illness and associated complex issues.

Essential:
04.Extensive experience working with the Mental Health Act 2014 and knowledge of the relevant state-wide Psychiatric Service Frameworks Procedures and Guidelines and Bendigo Health policy and procedures

Essential:
05.Extensive experience in, and demonstrated commitment to, an integrated community based treatment model for people with a mental illness and associated complex issues

Essential:
06.Extensive experience in liaising and consulting with relevant family members, team members, and a broad range of health professionals and community agencies

Essential:
07.Demonstrated evidence of participation in education and training to other staff, and commitment to ongoing professional development

Essential:
08.High level of organisational, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
