THE ALLIED HEALTH TEAM

The Allied Health team at Bendigo Health comprises over 350 staff including Audiology, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Psychology/Neuropsychology, Social Work, Speech Pathology and Allied Health Assistance.  Allied Health clinicians work in a very broad range of roles and are valued in the contribution they make to the multi-disciplinary team.

 

THE POSITION

The Social Work Department comprises over 80 staff and provides services in the acute, sub-acute and community based setting and consists of a team of Social Workers, welfare workers and support staff.

This position is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary allied health team at Bendigo Health and is responsible for providing high quality social work services to patients and their families accessing services on the acute wards.  The position will operate in different areas of the acute service as demands require and provide an opportunity for a breadth of Social Work interventions.  Social worker services focuses on the facilitation safe and timely discharge or transition for patients relevant to their individual situation. The role must communicate and interact effectively with relevant service areas both within Bendigo Health and external services to ensure best practice outcomes.  Relevant knowledge and experience is an advantage with this position.

01.Degree in Social Work recognised by the AASW and eligibility for AASW national accreditation status in line with satisfying the Allied Health credentialing requirements for Bendigo Health

03.Ability to work highly effectively in a multi-disciplinary, multi-functional environment
