The Emergency Department (ED) sees around 51,000 patients each year, making it one of the busiest emergency departments in regional Victoria and busier than some metropolitan emergency departments. The ED is open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year and is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals including emergency medicine specialist doctors, critical care trained nurses, nurse practitioners specialising in emergency care and physiotherapists with expertise in urgent conditions, supported technical and clerical staff. The Bendigo Emergency Department is comprised of 14 centrally monitored acute cubicles, three state of the art resuscitation bays, five fast track consultation rooms and a 12 bed independent Short Stay Unit.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
01.Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA

Essential:
02.Post graduate qualifications in Emergency or Critical Care nursing.

Essential:
03.Recent and comprehensive experience in Emergency Nursing.

Essential:
04.Comprehensive understanding of Emergency Department access and patient flow issues.

Essential:
05.Ability to interact and communicate with a diverse range of people at all levels.

Essential:
06.Thorough understanding of Emergency Department KPIs.

Essential:
07.Demonstrated evidence of participation in education and training and supervision of staff, and commitment to ongoing professional development.
