Bendigo Health is the regional referral and trauma center for a region that extends from Woodend to southern NSW and is committed to delivering world class healthcare to our community.
There is emphasis on a practical, hands on approach to junior doctor training and we aim to foster excellent clinical exposure across a range of specialties. 

 
Bendigo Health is seeking motivated staff to help the organization progress excellence in clinical care as we transition to our new exciting hospital. 

 

This Anaesthetic training post is fulltime for 12 months. You will take on the roles and responsibilities of a junior Anaesthetic Registrar, under appropriate supervision. The post provides experience and training requirements that enable the participant to become an accredited GP Anaesthetist.

The GP Anaesthetic Advanced Training Course is accredited by the Joint Consultative Committee in Anaesthetics (JCCA), a tripartite committee of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA).

 

The pathways for completing procedural training in Anaesthetics at Bendigo Health are:

Pathway 1 - As a component of the FARGP

Pathway 2 - As a component of the FACRRM

Pathway 3 - As a stand-alone training course

Selection Criteria
Essential:
01.Must be enrolled in or intending to enrol in a General Practice Education and Training Program (FACRRM or FRACGP and FARGP)

Essential:
02.Minimum of PGY3 at commencement of term

Essential:
03.Must be registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia

Essential:
04.Demonstrated commitment to rural practice and rural communities.

Essential:
05.An interest in advanced skills training in Anaesthetics

Desirable:
06.Documented evidence of prior postgraduate experience in anaesthetics

Desirable:
07.Demonstrated appropriate level experience and skills in the medical assessment and clinical management of patients
