Your impact

You will be working in your preferred unit(s) of specialty such as Emergency Department, Respiratory, General Medicine, General Surgery & Orthopaedics. You will be reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, your key responsibilities include:

  • assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of a high standard of nursing care in consultation with the health care team
  • ensure all patients, clients, visitors and staff are treated with respect, dignity and courtesy in an environment that is free from harassment and discrimination
  • support the core business of the clinical unit and the Nursing Directorate
  • ensure unit set KPIs are met and maintained

Your qualification, skills/experience and qualities required to succeed

As a Registered Nurse you are expected to demonstrate the following:

  • Current registration as Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Previous experience in unit of specialty
  • Ability to interact and communicate with a diverse range of people at all levels
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers

Selection Criteria
Essential:
01.Current registration as Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia.

Essential:
02.Demonstrated knowledge of the NMBA Registered nurse standards for practice and Codes of Practice / Ethics.

Essential:
03.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff at all levels within the organisation.

Essential:
04.Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills relevant to the Unit speciality. e.g. Critical Care, Renal, Oncology, Cardiology, Respiratory and General Medicine, General Surgery or Orthopaedics.

Essential:
05.Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work.

Essential:
06.Have included in my cover letter the unit(s) of specialty that I wish to apply to e.g Emergency Department, or Ward 6C, Ward 4B, Ward 5A or Ward 6A.
