About the Role

As part of Councils ongoing support of the Building Services Team we are currently seeking applications to appoint a Building Technical Officer, Building Inspector or Building Surveyor to join the current team of four building surveyors and two administrative staff.

The objective of this position is to assist the Building Services Team to administer building legislation with the intent of protecting the health, safety and amenity of building occupants and the public within the Shire.
As well as ensuring compliance with building legislation by undertaking site inspections and drafting enforcement documents relating to legislative non-compliances, you will also be providing assistance in the assessment of report and consent applications made to council whilst providing technical advice and guidance to all stakeholders throughout the Shire.

The position requires the incumbent to administer the building legislation in an autonomous manner and under limited supervision, whilst satisfying Council’s statutory requirements and providing a high level of customer service.

The banding for this role will be between 5-7, depending on skills and experience.
